Why AMG Fans Belong on Systems You Put Your Name On
- June
- 16
One of the things that makes AMG Fans unique is the material that the housings are made of. Our fans are not PVC plastic injection molded but rather a dough molded compound. They are over twice as thick as PVC which makes them much better at sound suppression and therefore much quieter. The dough molding process also allows for strong UV inhibitors to be put into the material which prevents any discoloration from the sun or elements. Anyone who has ever driven past a system having one of our competitors fans on it knows that after just a matter of months the nice white finish begin turning first a light yellow and as time goes on it can actually become a dark yellowish brown color. People who see your systems are a reference for future business should be seeing systems that look as good as the day you put them in not ones that become more unattractive as time goes on. Let your system be a billboard for you as the years go on. Tomorrow I will talk about our newist fan the AMG Patriot.
Fan Selection and Static Pressure
- June
- 15
A simple tip for fan selection is based on static pressure readings. If you install a system and are not successful at reducing the levels to below 4pCi/l evaluate based on what your u-tube is reading. If the vacuum is 1.75 inches w.g.for example, go to your fan selection guide and see which fan moves the most air at 1.75 inches w.g.. At this vacuum reading an Eagle moves 83cfm, a Legend moves 110cfm, and a Fury moves 178cfm. If choosing between an Eagle and a Legend the Legend would be the better choice. If you are still a significant way from below 4pCi/l or haven't had a substantial reduction with your initial system the Fury would be the best choice. A general rule of thumb is the more air you are moving beneath the slab the stronger your pressure field and the greater your pressure field extension. This is not a perfect rule but is a great starting point in solving your Radon problems and learning more about fan application

Festa Radon & Festa Manufacturing would like to welcome national mitigators to discuss their sucess stories and or difficult jobs. I will be more than happy to answer your questions or just to receive your imput.
It is my hope that everyone will contribute to this blog by sharing your successes on you difficult jobs as well as seeking help from other professionals around the country for your own challenging jobs. We can use it as a tool for sharing tips on where to make purchases for supplies as well as things like insurance etc. This blog has the ability for you to post pictures of your systems as well as some of the bad systems that are being put in out there. I am going to try and post daily, if time affords, and to read the postings from others. I will try and put on tips and suggestions for making your job easier as well as offing both marketing and technical advice.
